Last February, the FairBuilding Network team had the opportunity to join the BAYI Power Summit organized by our partner, BAYI, Inc. The event gathered BAYI’s network of partners for a day of learning, empowerment, and community-building.
Participants could choose from a variety of inspiring workshops such as Vixen Flow, Pleasure & Power, Feminist Storytelling, Play Workshop, Power Pose, Social Media Self-Defense, Tandang Sora Women’s Museum Tour, and Filipino Sign Language (FSL). Our team chose to attend the Filipino Sign Language workshop, where we had the meaningful experience of learning how to sign the powerful poetry piece, “I Rise.”
After the workshops, everyone gathered for an engaging series of talks and a Q&A session featuring notable speakers, including Mayor Joy Belmonte as one of the panelists.
It was truly a fun and eye-opening experience filled with valuable learnings, and we are grateful to BAYI, Inc. for including us in such an empowering event!
